Simon Deering, 4th dan, is the teacher at Aikidojo Haarlem. He began his study in England in 1973 with Jack Poole and Kazuo Chiba sensei, and then continued after Chiba sensei left for America with Minoru Kanetsuka sensei in London. | ||||||||||||||
| He regularly visited many different teachers at weekend and summer courses in England and Europe. Simon received his black belt in 1984, second degree in 1994, third degree belt in 2001 and his 4th degree summer 2005. During his lessons the emphasis lies not only on technique, but also on conflict management in general, on and off the mat. Someone who prefers an aggressive solution to a problem over a peaceful one, has not understood the principles of Aikido. Simon places great importance in a friendly atmosphere in his dojo and welcomes anyone who wishes to train. | |||||||||||||||
